About

Olivia Costa is a writer and filmmaker interested in work that is poetic and affecting, often straddling the fine line between absurdism and reality, intimacy and distance.

Olivia works as a notetaker on long-form projects and in the commercial world as a Director’s Assistant and treatment writer. Olivia has been published in Voiceworks, Harper’s Bazaar, Away, The Brag, Seizure, UTS Anthology and was a selected artist in the National Young Writer’s Festival 2020 & 2021. Olivia has just completed a Script Anatomy course to develop an original show and has commenced a first draft of a feature film. She has been selected in the inaugural cohort of the “First Break” program run by the Australian Writers Guild.

Olivia’s directing work includes short film, Nina, which was screened at Melbourne Queer Film Festival and London Fringe Queer Film Festival. Her music videos have been featured on Rage, MTV and as part of Clipped Festival.
